Quartzite is a natural stone that starts as sandstone and, under heat and pressure, hardens into one of the tougher stones you can put in a kitchen. It gives you the soft, marble-like veining people love, but with far more resistance to scratching and daily wear. Because it's natural, it's sealed on installation and every slab is one of a kind.
Care and finishes
We seal your quartzite on installation, and a reseal every year or two keeps it stain-resistant. We finish the edge to your taste and polish the sink and cooktop cutouts so the top reads as one continuous piece.

No. Quartzite is a natural stone quarried from the earth, while quartz is an engineered, manufactured surface. Quartzite has natural veining and needs periodic sealing.
Does quartzite need to be sealed?
Yes. We seal it on installation, and a reseal every year or two keeps it resistant to stains and moisture.
Is quartzite durable?
Very. Quartzite is a hard, heat-resistant stone. We still recommend cutting boards and trivets to keep it looking its best.
